Healthy Mentors- Center for Human Development, Inc. (CHD)
CHD has needs for EOU Students who are focusing in the areas of Sociology, Psychology and Pre-Med for one or more terms to provide implementation of the social program. These volunteers will be responsible for organizing and participating in a weekly social time in the recreation area of the May Lane apartments in La Grande and be “healthy mentors” to spark the socialization of residents. CHD staff will provide Training and support. Volunteers are needed beginning Spring Term, 2004.

Program Development - The Center for Human Development, Inc. (CHD)
Immediate needs for EOU Students who are focusing in the areas of Sociology, Psychology and Pre-Med. These students will gain valuable practical experience, which will meet Cornerstone requirements in the areas of community Service Learning, and Internships/Vocational Experiences. One or more unpaid interns are needed for a challenging term of curriculum development and coordination of a social program for persons who experience severe and persistent mental illness and/or emotional problems. Training and support will be provided by CHD staff. Internship opportunities begin Winter Term, 2004.

Graphic Design Publication- Hells Canyon Preservation Council
Need student with graphic design knowledge to design a postcard/brochure before the end of winter term. There is also a need for one day of data entry to supplement hours to meet the Cornerstone in Community Service.

Volunteer Applications- Habitat for Humanity
Grande Ronde Valley Habitat for Humanity is looking for individuals to complete the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION/INTEREST AND SKILLS SURVEY. Volunteers are divided into skill groups and called when they are needed. Applications are available at the Cornerstone office.

Practicum- CHD/ La Grande Middle SchoolThe Center for Human Development is looking for volunteers to assist in any number of activities with middle school students at risk for substance abuse. The Student Assistance Program includes a Life Skills class, after school community projects, and social activities.
